Enquiry Report Due Into Retirement Living

Enquiry - The Legal and Social Issues Committee of the Victorian State Government conducting the Inquiry into Retirement Housing is scheduled to present its final report to the Victorian Parliament on Wednesday, 1 March.

A media conference with representatives from the organisations RRVV, Consumer Law Action Centre, Housing for the Aged and COTA will be held on the steps of Parliament House in Spring Street on Wednesday at approximately 1.15pm.

Once the report is tabled in parliament, a copy should be available for download from the inquiry website:

Final hearing for retirement housing inquiry The final scheduled public hearing for the parliamentary inquiry into the retirement housing sector will be held on Tuesday 29 November.


The public hearing will take place from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm in the Legislative Council Committee Room at Parliament House.


The Legal and Social Issues Committee will hear from residents of retirement accommodation, as well as dispute resolution, financial and legal specialists.


The Committee has conducted a number of public hearings across Victoria as part of its detailed examination of the operation and regulation of the retirement housing sector in Victoria.


At the conclusion of the hearings the Committee will commence the preparation of its report with recommendations to Parliament.
