RECOMMENDATION 3: That Consumer Affairs Victoria collate its online 'Retirement villages' information into a booklet. Retirement village operators must provide this booklet to potential residents either as a hard copy or electronically.
The State Government is yet to respond to the recommendations.

Agree but someone other than CAV must do this. They have had 5 attempts in the past and while a couple of points have been improved, mostly the legislation and resulting contracts have been lengthened and become more unwieldy. Present contracts conceal the real cost of retirement village residence until the consumer is in nursing care or 1.8 m below the grass.
